Safety Trading Tips For Buyers

  • Always keep all trade transactions with any of the ad posters on our site local. Make sure to meet the seller that posted the ad that interests you in person, check the product item and be sure you are well and very satisfied with it before ever making payments for it.
  • Form it as a habit to always exchange the product items and payments at the same time. NEVER make any payments before reception of any item.
  • Make use of your number six; that is, your common sense. Try to avoid any ad about any product or services which appears too good to be true. This could fall in the likes of unrealistically low prices, quick money promises and offers, offers to pay for releasing the product from customs officers or anything else at all.
  • Never ever give out your financial information. This includes bank account details like your master card PIN, CVV number and token generated numbers, eBay/PayPal/Voguepay info, and any other sensitive information that could be misused.

Scams And Frauds You Are To Watch Out For

Safety/Fraud

Safety & Fraud Prevention

Our users' safety is our most important priority. Please, take a few minutes to read these tips and pieces of advice on how to avoid scams and promote safety on AdIsFunn.com and in your communities.

1. User's Safety

Basic Safety Tips To Always Keep In Mind When Using AdIsFunn.com

Whenever you are using AdIsFunn.com, please keep in mind the following safety tips and recommendations:

  1. AdIsFunn.com does not offer anything for sale; we only host adverts on behalf of private and trade sellers and do not hold items ourselves. If a seller tells you that AdIsFunn.com is the seller we can confirm this is not the case and the matter should be reported to us.
  2. AdIsFunn.com DOES NOT organize the delivery of any item, and we DO NOT handle the transfer of funds. If you receive an email claiming AdIsFunn.com is involved in your transaction we can confirm these emails are fraudulent and should be ignored no matter how genuine they may appear.
  3. Be suspicious of Items that are undervalued; IF A DEAL APPEARS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS. We appreciate that some items are cheaper than others, but be wary of items that are priced significantly under market value.
  4. Be suspicious of sellers who claim they are looking for a quick sale as of some personal experience, as this is a common scam technique used on the web.
  5. Never contact a seller directly using an email address they have written on their photographs or submitted within the advert text. All AdIsFunn.com adverts offer a legitimate way of contacting a seller via email at the foot of every advert. Unscrupulous sellers often ask you to contact them using other addresses as these bypass our automated fraud warnings sent if we suspect a seller is not genuine.
  6. Never send money via an unsecure method of payment like MoneyGram or Western Union Money Transfer. In any case, AdIsFunn is not responsible of scams involving such money transfers.
  7. Whenever possible, deal face to face and always view the item before progressing with a deal.

2. When Responding To An Ad

When responding to any kind of ad, it is important to remember that you have never met the person behind the ad before. Use caution.

3. When Placing An Ad

When placing an Ad, it is important to remember that you may not know the people responding to your ad, so be careful.

  • Do not include personal information in an ad, such as your full name or address, UNLESS you are a professional, a business or a dealer. Also, do not post images or content that are prohibited by our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, like nudity or messages relating to illegal activities.
  • Talk to people on the phone before giving them information, like your address, and trust your instincts.
  • If someone is coming to your home to check out an item you advertised, make sure you are not alone when they arrive.
  • If you are selling something portable but expensive, such as a DVD player or a digital camera, consider showing it to people in a coffee shop instead of your home.
  • If you are selling a car, make sure you are meeting the person somewhere public for a test drive, bring a friend, and be careful driving home.
